When painting in the dark
Sometimes this is what it looks like in broad daylight
Colours and shapes find their own way of bringing light even if you barely see the brush and the tin of paint in the light of one small candle
Sometimes what looks dark in the dark reveals brightness and clarity in the light of the next day
So what about letting ourselves free – let go of «right», «nice», «perfect composition», «colour theory», «follow the pattern» and let the colours and shapes flow through us and show the way to the gems inside us 🌟💎🌟
Let our hearts and spirits paint (or whatever we prefer doing) – and leave a message from the unspoken inside💫✨
Let the unspoken speak through colour and shape✨💫
Let the unconscious become conscious through expressions of art (painting, wood, steel, pottery, paper, yarn, fabrics, flowers; whatever you feel drawn to)💫✨
Even though it might take a day or two (or even longer) – after the session in the dark – to really see the light, the gems, the message… let’s be patient with ourselves. Sometimes we need to pause and digest, let the new settle, before we can see clearly🌟☀️
Expressing ourselves without words is a way to getting to know ourselves deeply💜❤️💜
It’s a way of tiptoeing gently to the place where we can get to know the deep insights about ourselves, the wells of (our) life.
Without waking up the amygdala and trigger the fight, flight or freeze respons.
Without getting into the old, oh, so wellknown loop, repeating ourselves like welltrained parrots🦜
Without falling into the tempting, but oh, so bottomless pit of too many words and too much thinking. The pit tempting us to try «just once more»… One more time and I’ll get the words right and the thinking straight. This time I will find an answer, find THE solution…
Expressing *without* words can paradoxically lead us to *find the words* that explain ourselves to ourselves, the words and expressions that make sense to us and ultimately set us free. And eventually we are able to express our insights, wisdom, treasures; to share our special gift with the world. Wordless or not.
